Energy Savings through High Efficiency
Thermo-Twin Windows is proud to claim a high energy efficiency rating with our windows, based upon regular testing for heat and air penetration. We are also certified as a lead-safe firm by the EPA. Our windows also meet all safety standards. High quality materials and workmanship make for a lasting product, which reduces cost of replacement for our customers.
Conservation
Thermo-Twin takes an active role in reducing power consumption in our daily office activities and in the manufacturing of our windows. We recycle used paper, glass, vinyl, and aluminum extrusions which would otherwise be wasted in a landfill. This includes old windows removed from work sites. Savings get passed on to our customers. We also take part with Duquesne Light in yearly power audits, to help reduce the strain on the local power grid.
Office LightingFlat Panel lighting in our offices reduce eyestrain and reduce flicker caused by older florescent fixtures. Power savings is considerable, which reduces overhead costs. The savings are passed on to our customers.

Plant
High Bay LED lighting panels in our window manufacturing plant reduce power consumption compared to the old mercury bulb fixtures. Energy usage is reduced by up to 70% over the old fixtures, with less frequent replacement.
|
Power Upgrades
Thermo-Twin is scheduled with Duquesne Light to implement a large-scale upgrade to our internal power grid. Modern, efficient transformers will be installed and the older, less efficient units will be removed.

Recycling
Vinyl Recycling
Thermo-Twin recycles all vinyl which is not used in the manufacture of our windows. The vinyl is then used for other items and not entered into landfills.
|
Glass Recycling
Thermo-Twin also recycles all glass which is not used in window manufacturing. The glass is then melted down and reused.
|
Paper Recycling
We also collect all paper and cardboard items used in our plant and offices and compact them into bundles which is then picked up and recycled into paper products.
